Why Winter Garden gutters earn their keep
Central Florida does not get a gentle rainy season. The National Weather Service in Melbourne puts the median onset of the wet season around May 27 or 28, and the region sees more than seven inches a month from June through September. Gutters that are packed in April are carrying a load in June that they were never going to manage.
Winter Garden adds its own twists. Lake Apopka forms the northern edge of town, and the elevation climbs a long way to the southwest, so water behaves differently from one street to the next. Downtown, the Plant Street historic district and the older homes around it are decades older than the southern subdivisions, which have newer roofs. Then there are the storms. During Hurricane Milton in October 2024, county officials reported up to 12 inches of rain in the area and trees came down in Horizon West.
A clean-out before the rains is far easier to live with than fascia repair after a season of overflow.

Common questions
How often should gutters be cleaned in Winter Garden?
Gutter vendors commonly suggest at least twice a year, commonly in spring after oak leaf and pollen season and again in late fall. Homes under heavy canopy may want more visits, and homes with few trees may need fewer. We can advise after seeing the roof.
What does gutter cleaning cost here?
These are third-party estimates, not our prices. Angi reports an Orlando-area average of about $171, with most jobs between $119 and $230 and difficult two-story or storm-debris jobs reaching about $408. Thumbtack shows a $125 starting price for one Winter Garden profile. Our own quote depends on the home (stories, roofline, gutter length, access and how clogged the gutters are) and is given after we see the details.
Should the downspouts be cleaned too?
Yes, ideally. A clear trough feeding a blocked pipe still overflows. When we call, we confirm whether downspout flushing is part of the job, and the pipe should be tested with water at the discharge point.
What if my gutters overflowed during a hurricane?
One storm with up to 12 inches of rain, as reported for Milton, can overwhelm even a clean system. Look for debris, sagging sections and water marks on fascia once conditions are safe. If you see damage to roofing, contact a roofer first.
